IESEG participated in the ICC Mediation Competition

An IESEG student team and their coach participated in the ICC Mediation Competition, 5-10 February, in Paris. The purpose of the Competition is to encourage the teaching and learning of an effective use of mediation – as a dispute resolution technique – in an increasingly cross-cultural and global market. Students learn to effectively combine the use of the Mediator and collaborative problem-solving skills to successfully present Parties’ interests and progress towards a negotiated settlement.

“The students came well prepared to the competition and were handling four different cases of commercial disputes in the preliminary rounds. They were selected out of 66 university teams to go to the 1/8 finals. A great achievement! This was a truly enriching international learning experience with participants of 40+ countries. They placed IESEG on the roadmap to effective dispute resolution.” (Coach : Prof. Ann-Sophie De Pauw).

Our practical and case-study experience from the Msc programme in Negotiation has allowed us to be one of the finalists in this world reknown event and we are proud of our performance! “Calm down and mediate” works.” (Students : Menglu Cong, Yalan Li, José Edgardo Avila)
