Fabio MINETTI: the ambassador of young people committed to Europe
Fabio MINETTI is a Bachelor’s cycle student on the Grande École program at IÉSEG and he is the General Secretary of the student public speaking association, “La Tribune”. His inspiring journey combines academic excellence, civic commitment and a passion for the future of Europe. Born in Piedmont, Italy, he grew up between two cultures and studied at an Italian high school in Paris, the Lycée Leonardo da Vinci. This multicultural background profoundly shaped his vision of the world, and led to him being invited to the Italian embassy and consulate to represent committed Italian youth. After high school, Fabio decided to continue his studies at IÉSEG, choosing the School for its international approach.
A commitment to politics and Europe
His ambition to work for the Italian Central Bank someday prompted him to take up an internship with this institution during his high school years. Fabio was then invited to the Milan Stock Exchange, as part of the “Young Factor” project supported by the Osservatorio Permanente Giovani-Editori, then to the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to give a speech where he represented the Bank of Italy, sharing his experience of the 2021 PCTO (Pathway for Transversal Skills) internship. “As part of this experience, I had the opportunity to talk to the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Italian Minister of Education, and I was then invited to a dinner on France-Italy relationships with Christine LAGARDE, President of the European Central Bank. It was at this point that I truly understood how fascinating the European dimension was.” explains Fabio MINETTI.

He then became a member of the Académie Notre Europe of the Institut Jacques Delors, a training program for young people aged 18 to 30, designed to develop the future leaders of the European Union. These courses enable young people to develop a high level of expertise in European issues, while building up a vast network of experts, contributors and high-level decision-makers in the construction of Europe. Selected to follow this face-to-face course with some forty other students, Fabio took part in conferences and networking sessions organized in emblematic locations such as the Bank of France. These sessions, held once a month, aim to promote European excellence and young people as drivers of change. Through these experiences, Fabio has explored themes such as immigration, ecological transition and social Europe.
“Thanks to the ‘Académie Notre Europe’ program, I took part in the Agora Jacques Delors in Lisbon. This 5-day event was co-organized by the Académie Notre Europe (Paris), the School of Politics (Rome) and the Academia Europea Leadership (Barcelona). Over 150 young people gathered to discuss the main challenges facing the EU and the priorities for the next 5 years, with European policy-makers and experts. We met Portuguese government ministers and European Union secretaries, as well as the President of the Portuguese Republic, ” explains Fabio MINETTI. “ One of the reasons why I was selected to attend this event in Lisbon was that I had received an invitation from the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel MACRON, to attend his speech about Europe at La Sorbonne in Paris, this past April. Actually, when I received his invitation letter by mail, I thought it was a prank – I couldn’t believe it was real! “
Public speaking for commitment
On November 23, Fabio MINETTI reached a new milestone by taking part in the Forvis Mazars Speech Contest, organized as part of La Cité de la Réussite. This event, created in 1989, represents a unique space for intergenerational exchange, where leading figures debate themes essential to the future of our societies.
This year, the main topic was commitment, addressing trust and solidarity in a modern and evolving world. Fabio MINETTI, with two fellow students, had eight minutes to explore the notion of commitment in front of a jury including Sophie CLUZEL (President of Fonds Clinatec and Honorary President of Manifeste Inclusion) and Francis SZPINER (lawyer and Senator for Paris).
“Participating in this event enabled me to grow personally, develop my critical thinking skills and reflect more deeply on my own values and aspirations. I had the chance to interact with some extraordinary people, whose ideas and experiences have left a lasting impression on me,” explains Fabio.
A vision for the future and a source of inspiration
As an active member of “La Tribune” at IÉSEG, Fabio won the Best Speaker award against Sciences Po. He has also organized conferences with top-level speakers, where his role as a moderator has enabled him to develop essential skills such as impartiality, rigor and time management.
Fabio MINETTI has a dream: to join the European Central Bank and combine economic expertise with European commitment. Inspired by figures like Mario DRAGHI, he aspires to contribute to the future of Italy and Europe, convinced that young people must play an active role in societal transformation.
Through his experiences, he embodies active citizenship and commitment to a united Europe. His career testifies to the power of education, courage and determination. Fabio inspires his fellow students to believe in their dreams and contribute, in their own way, to a better world.
