IÉSEG among the first schools granted the EESPIG label
This summer, IÉSEG was officially recognized (in the official journal of Higher Education and Research of 23 July) as being one of the first higher education institutions in France to have the new “EESPIG” label (Etablissements d’Enseignement Supérieur Privé d’Intérêt Général or Private higher education institutions with a public interest).
This label was created by the French Law on Higher Education and Research of 22 July 2013, and allows the EESPIG label to be awarded to private institutions of higher education, which are non-profit organizations that are under contract with the state.
Jean-Philippe Ammeux, Director of IÉSEG, says that the “EESPIG label should clarify the private higher education sector in France by distinguishing non-profit institutions (such as IÉSEG) which contribute to the public service mission, award diplomas in the name of the state, and are regularly inspected by the public authorities – from the rest of the private higher education sector.”
“For IÉSEG, one of the first nine institutions with the new label, this decision should allow us in the future to have better recognition from the public authorities as we continue to pursue our development and our mission,” he adds.
In the weeks and months ahead, a number of institutions in France are expected to be granted the EESPIG label.
