IÉSEG launches new “MIB Tech” (International Business & Technology) program for students with a STEM background
IÉSEG School of Management is pleased to announce that it will launch a new postgraduate program in International Business and Technology* in September 2020 on its Paris-La Défense campus. This program has been specifically designed for students with a STEM background (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medical Studies) who wish to strengthen their business and management skills, as well as to cultivate a better understanding of the corporate world.
Taught entirely in English, the program will focus on business strategy and development in a global context, particularly in the Tech, Engineering and Manufacturing Industries, in order to prepare students for managerial positions. It is offered on a full-time basis and consists of two consecutive semesters of courses followed by a professional experience capstone project.
Bridging the gap between science and business
A major part of the MIB Tech will be dedicated to fundamental courses related to core business and management skills: finance, strategy, marketing, entrepreneurship, project management, change management, negotiation, etc.
Around one quarter of the program will be dedicated to specialized courses in business development/management applied to the tech, engineering and manufacturing sectors (for example digital transformation in the finance and banking industry; statistical & machine learning for marketing; and the business implications of AI and the Internet of Things).
Meanwhile students will also receive training and courses to enhance their professional and intercultural development (business ethics, leadership, and intercultural management).
Alongside the academic courses, participants must choose to do a 4-6 month internship in France or internationally, or carry out a professional consulting project/thesis.
Professor Cyrine Ben-Hafaïedh, Academic Director of the program, notes: “We are delighted to be launching the MIB Tech next (academic) year, an exciting new program which aims to bridge the gap between science and business. This will provide students who have a STEM background with international business acumen and responsible leadership, necessary skills for today’s job market. We believe our multi-sector and multidisciplinary approach will provide our graduates access to a wide range of careers.”
The MIB Tech is also currently developing double degree agreements with leading engineering schools around the world. The first has been signed with Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM – E.T.S.I. Minas y Energía).
