IÉSEG sur les réseaux sociaux chinois
Youtube, Twitter and Facebook are not accessible from Mainland China, however social networks in China are extremely well developed. With an estimated 597 million people active on social media in China, the country’s top 10 sites actually have a staggering 3.2 billion individual accounts.
So what are those top sites about?
- Twitter-like: Tencent Weibo and Sina Weibo. The latter one gets most of the media attention, both in China and around the world.
- Facebook-like: Tencent’s QZone, Tencent’s Pengyou, RenRen, and Kaixin are all focused around a mix of social profiles, albums, buddies, and social gaming. RenRen is considered as the most powerful student social network in China.
- Youtube-like: Youku, Souku and Tudou are some of those community websites where you can post and share your videos. Youku is China’s biggest video site.
IÉSEG School of Management has recently stepped in Chinese social networks by creating accounts in Sina Weibo, RenRen and also some channels in Youku in order to adapt its communication to Chinese people. This is a step further to turn IÉSEG communication more globalized.
