Yvon Moysan, Academic Director of the Master in Digital Marketing and Innovation at IÉSEG, recently contributed to The WEALTHTECH Book: The FinTech Handbook for Investors, Entrepreneurs and Finance Visionaries, published this spring by Wiley Publishers.

A comprehensive guide to investment management

Made up of nine chapters of contributions from different international experts, this new book is a comprehensive guide to the disruption, innovation and opportunity in technology in the investment management sector. It explains how competition from low-cost robo-advisors affects the wealth management sector, explores technology and start–up company disruption, and shows how to manage customers’ assets. Similarly, it shows how to achieve better returns using the latest fintech innovation, and includes various new business models.

Global overview of WealthTech

Yvon Moysan has contributed to the chapter on the “Global Overview of WealthTech”, which looks at innovations and future trends in different regions. His article looks at how China’s FinTech industry is a world leader in this sector. He explains that the main factors to this success are technology, education, size of population, economic advancement, adoption of mobile technology, financial industry liberalization and regulatory acquiescence.

He also scrutinizes how Baidu Alibaba Tencent giants, tech companies and traditional banks help Chinese FinTech activity to cover seven essential vertical markets: payments and e-wallets, supply chain and consumer finance, peer-to-peer (P2P) lending platforms, online funds, online insurance, personal finance management and online brokerage.

The WealthTech Book seeks to provide critical thinking and actionable insight globally from start–ups, incumbents, investors, tech companies, and advisors in this evolving ecosystem.

With degrees from Harvard and ESSEC, Yvon Moysan is the Academic Director of the Master in Digital Marketing and Innovation at IÉSEG. He is also the President and founder of Saint Germain Consulting, a digital marketing consulting agency.
