IÉSEG’s International MBA: sharpen your skills for the global market

international-mbaThe International MBA (IMBA) at IÉSEG is an intensive one-year program designed for professionals with at least 3 years of experience.  It is a perfect launchpad for talented executives to accelerate their career.

IÉSEG is part of an elite group of business schools that are triple accredited (AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA), demonstrating the quality of the school and its MBA program.

Made up of 19 nationalities and approximately 35 participants for the 2017-2018 academic year, the IMBA provides theoretical and practical knowledge in an international context through core courses such as International Marketing, International Accounting, Responsible Management, International Human Resources Management, etc.

Jacob Vakkayil, director of the program, explains that these courses enable participants to gain a deeper understanding of business issues, while the elective courses offer flexibility and the possibility to explore a chosen business area in depth.

“I have really appreciated that, even though the courses and professors are molding us to be competitive in the global business market, they are looking to train socially responsible changemakers,” explained Shereene, a current participant in the IMBA program.

“This has been very well reflected in my IMBA class and the school encourages all of us to help each other, and what’s important is that we all learn together, more than competing against each other. It is a very healthy, interactive and uplifting ecosystem that we co-create with professors,” she added.

In February 2018, program participants also went on a 6-day learning expedition to Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. During their trip, they met with different companies/organizations, such as the Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg, Technoport, Tommy Hilfiger, Coca-Cola and Décathlon.

In order to ensure the success of its participants upon completion of the program, the School developed a personalized coaching and development program, called the Talent Program (see below). In this framework, professionals from various firms in talent-acquisition discuss their work, their recruitment processes, and the type of profile that recruiters and employers are looking for. Similarly, career coaches prepare participants for networking, interviews and assessments, and help them review their CVs and cover letters in both French and English. They also meet regularly with participants to help them outline their career strategy, monitor their progress and make sure they reach their desired career outcomes.

Alumni from this program have been hired in leading international companies such as Accenture, Airbus, Amazon, etc. working in a wide variety of positions like Marketing Director, Product Manager, CRM Manager, Business developer, etc. They work in a wide variety of fields, such as health care, financial, information technologies, etc. Two thirds of graduates currently work in Europe, and the others work in Asia, North & South America and Africa.
