Master in Strategy & Digital Transformation: strong partnerships with companies for a career-building experience

Carefully structured to combine theory and practice, the Master in Strategy & Digital Transformation program at IÉSEG provides students with a comprehensive and immersive experience. The first semester, focused on the fundamentals of management, strategy, and digital transformation, enables students to acquire the core skills that are assessed at the end of the semester through a ‘business game.’ In the second semester, students deepen their knowledge and delve into project management and the digitization of various functions, such as human resources and digital marketing.

The Master in Strategy & Digital Transformation offers students unique opportunities for collaboration with industry leaders.

A collaboration with Sopra Steria Next

Sopra Steria Next, a division dedicated to management consulting and digital transformation within the European group Sopra Steria, has long been a partner of IÉSEG and actively engages with the School. As part of the Master in Strategy & Digital Transformation, two consultants from Sopra Steria Next led a series of workshops to work with students on real business cases. Hélène LE TUTOUR, Consulting Manager and IÉSEG graduate, and Maëva BAUD, Senior Consultant, both specialize in digital transformation and change management, and guided the students throughout the day with their expertise.

In addition to the two business cases they worked on, students had the opportunity to learn about the company’s activities, as well as the tools and methods used in the professional world, particularly at Sopra Steria. They gained insight into the real challenges and operational models of the digital transformation consulting industry, helping them to better envision their future roles in the sector.

A hackathon with Capgemini Invent

This two-day hackathon is a core component of the Master in Strategy & Digital Transformation curriculum, just like the other courses. Last year, the program began a partnership with Capgemini Invent, one of the leading consulting firms in digital transformation, to launch the hackathon. During this event organized by two senior consultants from Capgemini Invent, who are also IÉSEG graduates, students faced real challenges from the digital transformation sector. This collaboration continues this year as well.

To illustrate their mission, the speakers shared examples of projects led by their company. Among them, the digitalization of the General Directorate of Customs, which involved around thirty consultants, was one of the largest digitalization projects in France. This case presentation illustrates the scale and complexity of the transformations required in the public sector.
Throughout the hackathon, students are encouraged to think independently about a real-world issue and develop relevant proposals using templates and tools created by Capgemini. This hands-on approach immerses them in a work environment similar to what they will encounter in the professional world. It is an opportunity for them to acquire valuable skills in problem-solving, teamwork, and presentation. They also have the chance to directly engage with industry professionals who are available for two days. The direct and constructive feedback they receive will help them refine their ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively, and, most importantly, gain a deeper understanding of the current challenges in the digital transformation of companies.

Visit to the Microsoft Innovation Hub

Accompanied by Antoine LABUCHE, Sales Manager at 9Altitudes with over 15 years of experience in Industry 4.0 and digital transformation, students visited the Microsoft Innovation Hub. Located in Issy-les-Moulineaux, Île-de-France, this space is dedicated to promoting innovation and collaboration between companies, startups, and researchers, providing privileged access to Microsoft’s latest technologies (such as Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing). Students discovered real-world results from a client case study by 9Altitudes. Echoing a business case they had worked on earlier in the week, this visit to the innovation center provided students with a tangible and applied view of the challenges of industrial digitalization.

In brief…

The Master in Strategy & Digital Transformation is a dynamic program that draws in real-time from technological advances and digitalization challenges, incorporating the latest trends and innovations in the sector. It prepares students to become leaders in strategy and digital transformation, while offering them a strong network and connections with influential professionals. Students from the IÉSEG Grande École program can, if selected, obtain a dual degree with the Master in Strategy & Digital Transformation.
