IÉSEG launches a “Retail Management and Business Development” Chair with Auchan Retail France

preview-auchanretailfrIÉSEG  and Auchan Retail France have announced the launch of a “Retail Management and Business Development” chair, which incorporates the recently launched master program and different pedagogical activities.

The new Master program in Retail Management & Business Development, co-founded with Auchan Retail France and Leroy Merlin, will welcome its first students on IÉSEG’s campus in Lille starting in September 2018.

This tailor-made ‘work & study’ program (under the ‘contrat de professionalisation’ system in France) combines hands-on and academic learning, with an average rhythm of three weeks in a company and one week at the School.

For these activities, IÉSEG will draw on the work of its center of excellence ICoN (IÉSEG Center on Negotiation), which aims to create and promote research and expertise in negotiation to students and companies.

In addition to the Master, some of Auchan Retail France’s managers will participate in several round tables and in different courses at the School. The company will also contribute to a business case that will allow students to work on specialized subjects, such as CSR or digital topics, and then provide recommendations.

Auchan Retail France will also participate in different career forums at IÉSEG in order to present internship and employment opportunities.

Sophie Guérin, Corporate Relations Director at IÉSEG, explains, “We are delighted to reinforce our collaboration with the School’s long-time partner Auchan Retail France, particularly concerning retail management. Our goal is to create innovative training for our students, and to bring added value to Auchan Retail France’s activities.”

“We need for students to become better acquainted with our management careers, and we are delighted that IÉSEG has proposed to develop this chair, which includes a specialized retail management program within the Grande Ecole master. We will offer students a varied (work & study) program where they have the opportunity to discover different careers and commercial formats, and where they will have good opportunities for integrating and evolving in the company,” adds Sofi Turgard, Management of HR Development at Auchan Retail France.
