Frank Vernel KUATE TAMOUFE

Master in International Accounting, Audit and Control, 2020

CEO of FRAVE GROUP, Audit Consultant, HEADA

Cameroon

I obtained my scientific baccalauréat at the French high school François Xavier Vogt in Cameroon. I then enrolled at the Catholic University of Central Africa, where I spent two years. The third year was an exchange program between IÉSEG and my university. At the end of the third year, I obtained a degree in Accounting-Finance. I was then accepted into IÉSEG’s Master in International Accounting, Audit and Control program

I chose this Master’s program for two main reasons: to equip myself with a dual skill set to be more competitive on the job market, and to acquire a specialization in a cutting-edge sector. I chose IÉSEG because it is one of the best business schools in France, with triple accreditation – EQUIS, AMBA, AACSB. The school also boasts an impressive professional network to support students in their search for internships. What’s more, the diversity of paths offered at the Master’s level, the courses taught in English, and the flexibility of the school were all significant assets.

What I really liked about my time at IÉSEG was first and foremost the diversity within the school (several nationalities) and the work methodology taught, especially the regular use of group work. This also helps to break down cultural barriers.

My favorite course was Financial Markets, because I was able to learn about market finance, which I was discovering for the first time. What’s more, the professor was very understanding and gave concrete examples to explain the course. I also really enjoyed the Frauds & Ethics course, as we talked about the values to be upheld in business and how to prevent/detect potential fraud.

After my Master’s degree, I worked as an Accountant for the Accor Group in Paris for almost a year. Afterwards, I felt the need to participate in the development of my country, Cameroon. So I went home. I’m currently an Audit and Finance consultant for an international NGO. In April 2022, I set up a consulting and investment company called Frave Group.

IÉSEG also strongly encourages entrepreneurship and provides all the necessary tools to build a project. Many students set up their own businesses. Several of my fellow students, for example, set up their own companies even before completing their studies.

Another of IÉSEG’s strengths is its rich community life. There are numerous clubs (sailing, cooking, video games, design, entrepreneurship…) that enable students to discover their interests in a wide range of fields and develop skills outside the classroom.
