We will transmit our passion to our students and will equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to become active contributors of environmental and social positive change, in their studies and professional lives.

No matter what industry or career they chose to join, a red thread across their studies will guide them to contribute to their organization’s sustainability.  We will go further by empowering them to reinvent economic approaches which are compatible with a +1.5° trajectory and social inclusion.

This will require:
> multi-disciplinarity
> critical-thinking skills to question status-quo
> situational intelligence
> a strong philosophical baseline
> the creation of new models

To achieve this, we will train and provide resources to our faculty and staff to anchor sustainability principles into their activities.

Master in Management for Sustainability

IÉSEG launched a new Specialized Master dedicated to CSR and Sustainable Development in September 2022. It is built around four pillars: Leading (with courses like Business Model Innovation, Leading and Governing a Sustainable Business), Understanding (e.g., Climate Change: Science and Policy, Decision-Making under Risk and Uncertainty), Managing (e.g., Managing and Reporting for ESG, Social Entrepreneurship and Intrapreneurship) and Partnering (e.g., Activism: Strategy and Tactics, Organizing for the Circular Economy).

People-Planet-Profit (PPP) interdisciplinary project

The PPP project connects all second-year students with companies and cities in the Paris and Lille regions. Within the framework of this project, students work as CSR consultants on real societal and environmental issues faced by companies or public authorities. They must integrate concepts from the six different courses they take during this semester. Since 2016, more than 3,500 students have had the opportunity to work with over 30 companies and 7 cities.

Sustainability certificate

Created in 2020 by a group of students participating in the Responsible Leaders program in collaboration with the sustainability team, the sustainability certificate aims to stimulate student engagement in sustainability and social responsibility throughout their curriculum. It values engagement in academic, student life, professional experience, and the master’s thesis. A point system determines whether or not the student can earn the certificate upon graduation.

Climate lab

Student-led practical course that addresses climate change through innovative pedagogical approaches and via the participation of our alumni. The objective of this course is to allow students to take the lead in the organisation and implementation of the course, determine the projects they want to work on, and be proactive in their learning experience. This first course runs between January and May 2023.

Introduction to sustainability induction seminar

All first-year students participated in the seminar which includes workshops on sustainability and diversity, a Climate Fresk, the Sulitest, and an online module on prevention of sexual violence and harassment.
